Creation of Prerequisite classes for IELCE Pathways in ESL
Thursday February 27, 2025 8:30am - 9:30am CST
Traditional students are expected to complete certain essential requirements before starting a pathway. JCAE has worked to create prerequisite classes for CNA and CDL pathways to prepare ESL students for the college class they will participate in. The teacher supports students by instructing on study skills, test taking skills, vocabulary and more. The CDL prerequisite focuses on getting their permit. The CNA prerequisite is designed to help students get their BLS certification, which includes a written exam. JCAE's prerequisite classes have such a high success rate that the college is wanting to implement them into their current curriculum. Come learn how you can apply this strategy in your program!

Learn how to start from basics, work towards more challenging tasks with a curriculum that is embedded into the classroom lessons and increase student's digital skills. All of this helps to make students more qualified and competitive for the job market. Come to see the creation, the implementation and all the fun tools used in JCAE ESL classrooms.
